Pre Reflection:

I am interested in this course because I feel like it’s a universal topic that all Americans should know more about and be better versed in legal processes, the rights we hold in order to deploy our rights and have them upheld. Criminal Justice is a topic that I have my own exchange with from many years ago. The part of the legal system I know the least about is the less exciting part from TV and podcasts— the arraignment, hearings, appearances and motions. I’d like to learn more about how the entire timeline goes. This course I think would play a significant role feeding the noise in the back of my mind that i’d like to continue school and aspire to go to law school and become an attorney for a state that is underwhelmed by fewer legal professionals. I would like this course to set the foundation of how the criminal justice system works. My fear for this course is that I won’t love it or that I love it and life pulls me from being able to commit to what the coursework deserves from me. This course will get from me, passion and willingness to learn and be eager to understand ideas and information.
